Newborn Photography

There’s nothing quite like those first few weeks after you welcome your new baby to the family. Their tiny features and long eyelashes. How they seem to melt into you as you hold them close. The simple yet incredible feeling of peace.

This is what I want you to remember

As parents, we spend countless hours staring at those beautiful faces. They seem etched in our minds. But the days pass by, and those tiny faces change so quickly that before we know it, we’re struggling to remember each detail we used to know by heart. That’s why I love newborn portraits so much. Devoting just a few hours with me and you won’t have to worry about forgetting each perfect detail; you’ll have memories on your walls, in picture frames and albums forever.

"Ellie is by far the best photographer I've ever worked with. Not only is she extremely talented, she has the most friendly, upbeat personality! She went above and beyond to make sure we had incredible maternity and newborn photos. Will be using her for all future family professional photos."

What to expect

Wondering what your newborn session with me looks like? You can expect a warm and personalized experience that’s hard to match

Design Consult – This is our time to meet and talk about your family, your style, and what you’d like your images to look like. We’ll discuss any colors you’d like to incorporate, any props or poses you’ve seen that you love, and I’ll be able to answer any questions you might have about the day.

Your Session – You’ll receive a helpful prep guide before your session to help you get ready for the day. All newborn sessions begin at 10am and last anywhere from 2-3 hours, depending on the baby. Once you arrive, I’ll get baby snuggled in and get to work, and you’ll have time to kick back, relax, and catch up on your favorite books, blogs or social media.

After Party – Typically 4-5 days later, we’ll meet again to look at the gorgeous images we took. This is where you will pick the images you would like to order, and what you would like to do with them. You can choose from heirloom products such as wall art, fine art albums, prints and more.

Product Delivery – The best part – your art has arrived! Your images have been fully retouched and any digital images will be sent to you via digital download. You’ll now be able to walk past your wall art each day, or page through your album any time you’d like.

Ideally, before your little one arrives. After you deliver, we’ll book a date within the first few weeks. If you’ve already delivered, reach out as soon as you can to discuss dates and options!

All props, wraps etc. are provided, so the only things you need to bring along are typical diaper bag items such as diapers, wipes, formula (if bottle feeding) and the like. I always recommend bringing along several pacifiers if you allow them; they can be a tremendous help in soothing newborns to sleep.

Newborn sessions begin at 10am and length of time can vary. I leave plenty of time for feeds, diaper changes, and soothing, so plan for anywhere from 2-3 hours.

You’ll receive a prep guide before your session with suggestions on wardrobe, but my general advice is: think neutrals!

Absolutely! I always encourage mom, dad and siblings to join in several poses. If you’re bringing siblings along, we’ll plan to take family photos either at the very beginning, or at the end of the session. Then, another adult is able to take them home so they don’t have to wait the rest of time.

"She was amazing, and very energetic, made me feel comfortable during the shoot! Very professional with everything! Everything was amazing for me and I am obsessed with how my pictures turned out!"
