Confession: I just like pretty things. Pretty dresses, more specifically.
When meeting me, I may not seem like it. I’m most comfortable in leggings and a t-shirt, and my naturally curly hair is best described by my daughter as “crazy.” The 40’s are hitting hard so I’ve only recently begun wearing a touch of makeup to make myself feel a bit more perky.
But put me in a room with oodles of tulle and satin and beading and rhinestones and I’m instantly on cloud nine. I’ve tried understanding why I’m so in love frilly, poofy gowns and it all comes down to princesses. I love princesses and the royal family (flawed though they may be), Victorian-era styling and glamorous weddings. In fact, my secret dream job was that of a Disney princess at Disneyworld – to which my husband assured me that I and my snarkiness would not have held that career for long, adding that I would have made a great Tinkerbell.
Naturally when I fell in love with maternity photography, my inner princess took hold and has been crafting a collection of drool-worthy gowns for mamas to wear in a wide variety of sizes and fits. In fact, many of my gowns fit both maternity and Mama & Me clients! I’ve added so many to my photography closet that I needed to photograph them all again for a uniform client guide. Below are some of the newest to my collection:
Barbara – Mauve
The Barbara gown in green was one of my first “big” gowns purchased, and the mauve kept calling my name. I love it’s versatility in standing images, sitting as well as lying down photos. It fits a wide variety of sizes from S-XXL.
Magnolia
Can we just talk about these colors for a minute?! I’ve always been a fan of tone-on-tone and this gown just clinches the deal. These teals look beautiful both in-studio and outdoors and feature belle sleeves. Fits XS-XL
Francesca
Isn’t she gorgeous?? I decided I needed more blue gowns in my client closet and this one jumped right out at me. The Francesca gown is elegance at its finest with a long train and corset backing. Fits size XS-L
